On March 11, 2020, President Donald J. Trump issued Presidential Proclamation 9993 titled “Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting 2019 Novel Coronavirus.” This proclamation suspends entry as non-immigrants or immigrants for aliens who were physically present within the Schengen Zone during the 14-day period preceding their attempted entry to the United States.
Consistent with the Proclamation, U.S. Embassy Riga will suspend regular visa operations until further notice. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.
