Hello all avid readers. Apologies for a prolonged hiatus, but the book club is back with ZUCKED, by Roger McNamee. This controversial book has raised quite a few eyebrows and as social media continues to evolve and influence our lives, it’s probably worth taking a critical look/read.
An erudite friend of the Embassy, 20 year Riga resident, and recently erased himself from Facebook – Benjamin Roth will lead the post reading discussion.
First time participants are more than welcome!!!!
What is in it for you?
- A free hard cover copy of Zucked, yours to keep, and an opportunity to discuss its contents with other avid readers in English!
How to participate:
- Be among the first eight people to email studentsn@state.gov and provide your name, email, and phone number.
- If you are one of the first eight, you will receive a reply from me, Nils, and then you can pick up your book in downtown Riga at the shop Art Nouveau Riga from 10:00 to 18:00 daily (including weekends).
- Read the book!
- Read the book & then on Tuesday, the 17th of September at 18:00 meet with the group at John F. Kennedy reading room, 3rd Floor, Latvian National Library, Mūkusalas iela 3, and be ready to participate a discussion about the book. The US Embassy will provide beverages and snacks!
