DUTIES

Position serves as the Industrial Electrician for Embassy Riga and performs journeyman level electrical work . Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all types of electrical equipment including control and power circuits for air handling systems, chlorination equipment, water pumps, liquid chillers, fuel fired boilers, electric water heaters, lighting, Building Automation System (BAS), fire suppression and alarm systems. Monitors and performs supervised work on medium voltage regulators, transformers, and switch gear. Monitors and repairs diesel generators and electric power transfer systems. Analyzes and proposes solutions for all types of electrical problems including overloaded circuits, short circuits, malfunctioning equipment, and circuit identification. Plans and installs conduit, panel boards, wiring, outlets, switches, and control circuits for all types of electrical projects. Provides professional expertise for purchasing maintenance equipment, spare parts, tools, and supplies. Completes work orders and maintains maintenance records, equipment log books, and maintenance checklists. Conducts inventory of spare parts, tools and materials. Position reports to Electrical Engineer.

DUTIES

Engineering Inspector will be responsible for quality assurance of the construction contract administration efforts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltic (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) Resident Office in support of U.S. Embassy and U.S. European Command (EUCOM) assistance programs in the Baltic Region. Under the general supervision of the Project Engineer, the Engineering Inspector will be responsible for the overall quality assurance management of assigned construction contracts and activities in support of the U. S. Corps of Engineers (USACE) mission for the Baltic Resident Office. Engineering Inspector will work independently with minimum guidance or supervision and will be fully responsible for all relevant aspects of the Baltic Resident Office Quality Assurance Plan. Engineering Inspector will meet with senior management officials of the host country and U.S. Embassy Program Officers to coordinate USACE project scope development and to determine project specification requirements. Engineering Inspector will provide quality assurance management through regular monitoring of the construction quality and assisting with technical coordination of the design and specifications for various projects throughout the Baltic Region. Incumbent will serve as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on specific assigned projects. Incumbent will be required to occasional travel within Baltic region.
