SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): gross salary range from 11,309 EUR to 14,421 EUR per year (Position Grades:  FSN-5 (trainee level) or FSN-6 (full performance level.))Please note that the salary will be determined based on individual qualifications.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Performs journeyman level Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) work.

  • Analyzes all heating and cooling systems to ensure they are operating within established performance standards, performs preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots both mechanical and electrical systems for the following types of equipment: air handling systems, split air conditioning units, hot and cold water HVAC circulation systems, water pumps, compressors, liquid chillers, and fuel fired boilers.  Connecting drain pipes and brazing (sweating) copper pipes.
  • Maintains tools and other types of equipment related to HVAC maintenance and repair work.
  • Researches and provides professional expertise for purchasing maintenance equipment, spare parts, tools, and supplies.  Conducts inventory of spare parts, tools and materials.
  • Escorts and oversees local contractors as needed.
  • Stands duty on a rotational basis and responds to after hour emergency calls as needed.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

This is a full time guard position based on rotating shifts to safeguard U.S. Government property and personnel.

The duties include:

  • Controlling the Embassy’s surroundings on walking patrol. Preventing parking of unauthorized vehicles around the perimeter of the Embassy. Controlling access to the Embassy’s driveways.
  • Inspecting private and official vehicles and their cargo for dangerous items.
  • Performing mobile patrol security and emergency response to all Embassy residential facilities.
  • Preventing entry of unauthorized personnel or vehicles to the territory of U.S. Embassy.
  • Ensuring security at the public events, organized by the Embassy

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The CLO Administrative Clerk assists the Community Liaison Officer in arranging embassy community events, including field trips, Hails and Farewells, etc. Some after-hours work may be required to assist with these events.

The incumbent orders and organizes CLO office materials; maintains files and records of the CLO office; assists in preparing and drafting the Embassy newsletter; and does research for cultural information to be promoted within the community.  S/he also researches and answers inquiries on cultural activities within Latvia, shopping, schools, child care, domestic help, etc. The incumbent is responsible for preparing a variety of written communications, including reports and responses to inquiries from members of the embassy community.
