Hello avid readers. For February, which is also Black History Month, Books Are Still Cool took a road trip to Daugavpils where we read Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize winning Beloved. Our special guest and major fan of the book, George Steel e gave the reading group in Daugavpils deep insights into African-American culture.
For March, Women’s History Month, Books Are Still Cool is back in Riga and we have on offer a #1 New York Times bestseller – Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafasi. (117 weeks on the NY Times bestseller list and winner of the 2004 Non-fiction Book of the Year Award from Booksense.

- If you are one of the first eight, you will receive a reply from me, Nils, and you can pick up your book at “Aptieka” (Mazā Miesnieku Street 1 in the Old City) this Friday, the 7th of March, starting from 17:00 onward.
- Read the book!
- On Monday, the 31st of March at 17:30 meet with the entire group at “Aptieka” and be ready to participate in open and informal discussion.
