Books Are Still Cool!

Hello avid readers. It’s November and once again it’s time to focus on entrepreneurship. During November the U.S. State Department celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week and our Embassy is organizing a host of activities including our monthly book club. This month’s award winning book, Big Bang Disruption – Business Survival in the Age of Constant Innovation, is a timely piece “that is both shield and sword for any business of any size in this innovative world where everyone has to be aware of disruptive technologies.”

What’s in it for you?

  • A free book, yours to keep, and an opportunity to discuss its contents with other avid readers! Plus, this discussion will be hosted by an American business school lecturer and entrepreneur with keen insights to share.

How to participate:

  • Be among the first eight people to email ircriga@state.gov and provide your name, email, and phone number.
  • If you are one of the first eight, you will receive a reply from me, Nils, and then you can pick up your book at at the shop Art Nouveau Riga, Strēlnieku Iela 9 from 10:00 to 17:00 daily, including Sat. & Sun. But you have to pick it up by the 9th of November or the next person in line with get it!
  • Read the book!
  • On Wednesday, the 26th of November at 18:00 meet with the group at the café “Rasols” (also Strēlnieku iela 9 (formally Winoveria Vinoteca)) and be ready to participate in open and informal discussion. The first round is on us!
