Books Are Still Cool!

Hello all avid readers. We have a fantastic book on offer for February, which is also Black History Month.Death of a King – New York Times bestselling author and award-winning broadcaster Tavis Smiley recounts the final 365 days of King’s life, revealing the minister’s trials and tribulations.

The post-reading discussion will be hosted by Assistant Professor Lauren Monsein Rhodes who presently works at the Latvian University’s Cultural and Anthropology program and has previously worked as a museum educator at the Studio Museum of Harlem, The Kitchen, and the Weeksville Heritage Center. Her keen insights in contemporary U.S. black culture, coupled with this 2014 widely acclaimed bestseller, should make for an interesting discussion.
