Hello all avid readers. For the summer book and in celebration of EuroPride presently taking place in Riga, we have chosen The Price of Salt by renowned American psychological thriller author Patricia Highsmith.
The post-reading discussion guest will be Rita Ruduša, a seasoned Latvian journalist, author of Forced Underground, a book about the lives of homosexuals in Soviet Latvia, who is the commissioning editor for news, current affairs and documentaries at Latvian TV (LTV).

How to participate:
- Be among the first eight people to email ircriga@state.gov and provide your name, email, and phone number.
- If you are one of the first eight, you will receive a reply from me, Nils, and then you can pick up your book at the shop Art Nouveau Riga, Strēlnieku Iela 9 from 11:00 to 18:00 daily, including Sat. & Sun. But you have to pick it up by the 30th of June or the next person in line with get it!
- Read the book!
- On Wednesday, the 12th of August at 18:00 meet with the group at La Kanna, Tērbatas Street 5 and be ready to participate in open and informal discussion. The first round of drinks is on us!
