Riga, October 20, 2016 – On October 18-19, U.S. Ambassador Nancy Pettit paid an official visit to Jēkabpils and Rēzkene. In Jēkabpils, Ambassador Pettit met with Mayor Leonīds Salcevičs and City Council officials, as well as with regional NGO youth leaders. On October 19, in Rēzekne, Ambassador Pettit met with Mayor Aleksandrs Bartaševičs and other City Council officials. She also visited the Rēzekne Higher Education Institution and met with the chair of a local NGO that focuses on women’s issues.
