Riga, June 30, 2014 – On Thursday, July 3, the U.S. Embassy in Latvia will host its annual Independence Day celebration for the American community and a wide range of invited guests.
The event will take place from 17:30 to 19:30 on the Embassy grounds (Samnera Velsa Street 1). Ambassador Pekala will address the gathering. In addition, the Latvian National Armed Forces Orchestra will perform, and there will activities for kids. Several classical American cars from the American Car Club of Latvia will also be on display. Credentialed media representatives are welcome to cover the celebration.

Credentials can be obtained by e-mailing or calling the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section at the contact information below by Wednesday, July 2, at 12:00. All credentialed journalists and photographers should arrive at the Embassy for a short briefing and a security check no later than 16:30. Media representatives will be allowed to use their equipment until 18:30. After that, they are welcome to check their equipment with security and enjoy the party as the Embassy’s guests. Unfortunately parking will not be available at the Embassy; please plan accordingly.
