Riga, October 28, 2014 – U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs (ISA) Derek Chollet arrives in Riga today for an official visit through October 30. While in Latvia, Assistant Secretary Chollet will meet with Latvian Minister of Defense Raimonds Vējonis, Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs, and other senior Latvian government officials and Baltic Defense Policy Directors. During his visit, Assistant Secretary Chollet will participate in a public discussion at the University of Latvia sponsored by the Latvian Transatlantic Organization (LATO). He will also observe U.S. and Latvian military training and meet with U.S. troops at Ādaži military base.
