The 2020 U.S election campaign cycle ends today against the backdrop of a global pandemic, high early voter turnout, and intense interest across the United States. Following the traditions of our democracy, candidates around the country have made their case to the American people, journalists have freely reported on the campaigns, and American citizens have vigorously debated the issues. Now, the American people will speak, choosing who will occupy the White House for the next four years, and who will represent them in thousands of other offices in Congress, state legislatures, counties, and cities. We look forward to seeing the results after the polls close and after officials carefully count the votes to ensure that the voice of the American people is heard.
