The U.S. Embassy is happy to announce the availability of direct deposit of Social Security benefits and other federal benefits electronically to Latvian bank accounts. For those beneficiaries who sign up, your monthly benefit will be transferred directly to your local bank account, and automatically converted from dollars to euros. This option is also available to beneficiaries who are currently receiving direct deposit to a U.S. bank account.
