U.S. Congressional Delegation Visits Latvia

Riga, August 24, 2016 – U.S. Congressional Delegation led by Representative Chris Gibson visited Latvia on August 24. The delegation also included Representatives Paul Cook, Austin Scott, Dan Lipinski, Rich Nugent, Chris Stewart, and Dan Benishek. The visit is part of a larger trip, which also included stops in Israel and Poland.

While in Latvia, the delegation met with the Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs, Latvian Defense Ministry State Secretary Jānis Garisons, and visited Old Riga. The delegation came to Latvia to reinforce the United States commitment to its NATO allies and the U.S.-Latvian bilateral relationship.

U.S. Representative Chris Gibson represents the 19th Congressional District of New York. In Congress, Gibson is a member of the House Armed Services, Agriculture, and Small Business Committees. Gibson has served in Congress since 2011.

U.S. Representative Paul Cook represents the 8th Congressional District of California. In Congress, Cook is a member of the House Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Natural Resources Committees. Cook has served in Congress since 2012.

U.S. Representative Austin Scott represents the 8th Congressional District of Georgia. In Congress, Scott is a member of the House Armed Services, and Agriculture Committees. Scott has served in Congress since 2010.

U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski represents the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois. In Congress, Lipinski is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure, and Science, Space and Technology Committees. Lipinski has served in Congress since 2005.

U.S. Representative Rich Nugent represents the 11th Congressional District of Florida. Nugent has served in Congress since 2010.

U.S. Representative Christ Stewart represents the 2nd Congressional District of Utah. In Congress, Stewart is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Stewart has served in Congress since 2013.

U.S. Representative Dan Benishek represents the 1st Congressional District of Michigan. In Congress, Benishek is a member of the Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Veterans’ Affairs committees. He has served in Congress since 2011.
